Tips for flower Perler bead projects
These flower perler bead patterns range from the tiny Pink Tulip (13x20) to the full-bloom Sunflower (25x25). Since standard beads are 5mm, that sunflower comes out at roughly 12.5cm across, a good size for a coaster or a small wall hanging. The Daisy and Red Rose are smaller and work well as magnets, bag charms or a row of pins on a jacket.
For a bouquet that stands up, iron each flower on both sides so it stays flat, then hot glue a green pipe cleaner or a craft stick to the back. Put the stems in a small jar and you have a desk arrangement that lasts. The Flower Pot pattern already includes its pot, so it is the easiest one to prop on a shelf by itself.
Petals look best with two close shades of the same color: a main tone plus a lighter one for highlights. The Cherry Blossom uses only four colors, which keeps it quick and clean. If you want a yellow rose or a purple tulip, open the pattern in the pattern maker and swap the petal colors; the bead counts update for you.
Floral coasters need a firm, even iron on both sides so they don't curl when a warm mug sits on them. Our ironing guide covers the timing. For more seasonal blooms, see the spring patterns.
