Tips for spring Perler bead projects
Spring perler bead patterns lean on fresh colors and blooms: the Pink Tulip, Daisy, Cherry Blossom, Flower Pot and Four-Leaf Clover. All five are small to medium and fit on a single pegboard, so they're good for quick weekend crafts once the weather warms up.
March through May gives you a few occasions to bead for. The clover suits St. Patrick's Day pins and magnets. Tulips and daisies make nice Easter basket fillers, Mother's Day gifts and teacher appreciation presents. String several cherry blossoms on twine for a garland that brightens a porch or classroom wall.
Pastels carry the season. Try pale pink, lavender, light yellow and mint, and keep a darker outline so the shape stays readable. Open any design in the pattern maker to swap the tulip to purple or the daisy center to orange; the bead counts change with it.
If you're crafting with kids, the Cherry Blossom (4 colors) and Four-Leaf Clover (3 colors) are the easiest. An adult can handle the ironing while kids place the beads. Our beginner guide covers the basics. For more blooms, see all flower patterns.
