Tips for weather Perler bead projects
Our weather perler bead patterns all have happy faces: the Smiling Sun, the Smiling Cloud and the Rainbow with Clouds. The rainbow is the biggest at 29x19, which uses the full width of a large square pegboard, while the cloud is a quick 19x12.
Weather designs make cheerful classroom and nursery decor. Put the sun, cloud and rainbow on magnets for a "today's weather" chart, hang them as a mobile, or glue one to a plain photo frame. The cloud is also a good beginner keychain since it has only five colors.
The rainbow is the one to plan ahead for. It takes a bit of every color in the rainbow plus white for the clouds, so check the bead counts before you start. Lay each arc in order from the outside in so the stripes stay even. If your red and orange are hard to tell apart, open it in the pattern maker and pick more contrasting shades, or turn it into a pastel rainbow.
A long, thin rainbow can curl if one end gets more heat, so move the iron in slow circles across the whole piece. Pair these with the space patterns for a full sky set.
