Tips for heart Perler bead projects
Heart perler bead patterns are some of the fastest projects on the site. The Classic Red Heart is only 13x12 and four colors, so a kid can finish one in a few minutes. The Pink Pixel Heart with Shine adds a small white highlight, and the Happy Heart Face and Heart Eyes Emoji bring in a bit of character.
For Valentine's Day, these are easy to make in bulk. Glue a magnet to the back for classroom valentines, add a keyring for a friendship gift, or punch a hole with a ribbon through the top bead before ironing to make a card topper. A row of small hearts tied on a string becomes a quick garland for a mantel or window. Start a few weeks before February 14 if you are making a whole class set.
Red and pink are the obvious picks, but hearts look great in pastels, rainbow stripes or a team's colors. Open any heart in the pattern maker and change the fill color; the shine bead reads well on any medium or dark shade.
Because they are so small, hearts also work as earrings or charms. Iron them a little less so the bead holes stay visible if you plan to thread a jump ring through. For more pocket-sized ideas, browse the small patterns.
